Moonbeam

18 x 15" original oil
sold

This is my latest floral painting. It's always a treat to paint whites and play between cool and warm variations of cream and gray. My favorite areas are where the hits of sienna brown shows up unexpectedly. This painting was only at Authentique Gallery for a couple of weeks before it got snatched up. Thank you to the gallery and to my newest collector! I really appreciate you both. To the collector: you got one of my favorites. Whites are magical.

Gallery Deliveries

Today Buttercup and I spent the afternoon driving to Salt Lake, Park City and back delivering paintings. She enjoyed barking at dogs in the crosswalks and I enjoyed a pack of Peanut Butter M&Ms I caved in and bought at the Maverick in Heber. It was a beautiful June day and we enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine.

First we went to Alpine Art to deliver the pieces that will hang in Friday's opening night of Best in Show. She has decided she likes this dog-friendly space.

Next, we went to Illume Gallery of Fine Art to deliver the three pieces I painted during the "Where In The World Is?" plein air event. The piece on the left and in the middle have already sold! The show is going on now and closes June 28. Don't miss it! Click here to see the artwork and to get information on the closing receptions June 27 and 28 at Illume.

I think she looks spiffy in her frame.

This piece, Scritch Scratch, will sell on June 27 or 28 at the closing reception for this show. If you want to make sure you get it, you have to call Illume and claim it! It's a great little piece and I promise it will get gobbled up unless you get it first.

Next, we drove to Park City to deliver five commissions for Gallery MAR. One is pictured below, Ben's Nose. The pieces are heading to a client in Texas. Buttercup thought it was just grand to pose in front of some of her pieces, and she is all smiles.

Now it's an evening for dinner with the husband, lounging in sweats, and maybe a movie!

Thank you so much to Alpine, Illume and Gallery MAR for working so hard to promote and sell my work. I love what I do and I am glad we can do it together!

Pam & Steve

9 x 16" original oil
commission

Years and years ago I attended a show in Park City at the Kimball Art Center. There was a new (to me) artist named Erin Berrett who did a show of shoe paintings that blew me away. I even went back after the doors closed to press my face against the glass doors and peer inside, just to look at the paintings a little longer. I have followed her online and been to other shows of hers throughout the years, and I have been lucky enough to even be in a few of the same shows as a fellow artist.

When she contacted me about doing a commission of her two dogs for her husband's birthday, I almost fainted. Was THE Erin Berrett asking me to do a painting for HER?? Yes, I was starstruck and determined to make this the best painting of her dogs possible. It was great to paint for another artist, to share in finding our favorite brush strokes, and to enjoy the camaraderie. We both get to do what we love!

Here are her precious dogs: Pam on the left, and dear Steve who has since passed, on the right. Erin is like me: our dogs are the ones we spend the most time with since we both paint at home during the day while our husbands are at work. If we didn't have our dogs, we'd be talking to OURSELVES all day long, but thank goodness they are there curled up in the studio to keep us company.

You have to check out Erin's stuff.

Listen, Life is Good

Both of these are paintings of my very own lab, Buttercup. She is such a dear in every way. She is currently recuperating in her room behind a baby-gate after some surgery to remove a mass (which was tested and turned out to be nothing.) She is so bored, but until the stitches come out she's got to be as still as possible. I can't wait until we can be outside together and play again!

Hunter

6 x 6" original oil

Contact any of my galleries if you're interested in commissioning a portrait of your dog. This is Hunter, a gift for his owner from a dear friend. I think it's really sweet when people gift original art to somebody, especially a surprise commission of their pet.
